英、汉两种语言中都有用动物打比喻的日常习语和谚语。如在汉语中比喻人胆小如鼠，相当于英语中我们在平时学习的“chicken hearted”。将它们进行对比和互译，可以帮助我们了解中西方文化的异同，从而使英语表达更形象、生动、地道。
